I don’t really care about the implications from this article (who’s black enough, who should be deciding who’s black enough, scholarship awards). This is however why I call black people black and don’t recognize the term “African-American.” I’m not “European-American” and you can’t assume when you see a black person that they are from the U.S.

Really though, who cares.
